Vishnu Moreshwar Mahajani was born on 12th November,1851 in Pune.He did his MA from Deccan College, Pune in 1873. His gave lectures on Tukaram on November 15th and16th at Hemantutsav Vyakhanmala, Hindu Union Club, Mumbai. He was chairperson of the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, Pune in 1907 .Between 1908-18 he translated 900 poems of Tukaram in English . He died on 16th February , 1923.
